In this section you will find links to two research papers I wrote while in junior college. This stuff is here because I'm proud of it and I consider these papers some of my best work, so I've included them as part of my portfolio. Hopefully they'll be of interest to some of you.
Combining game theory, philosophy of mind, probability theory and theories of artificial intelligence, this paper discusses why, barring perhaps a radioactive spider, computers will never replace the human role in knowledge creation. Written as my H2 Knowledge and Inquiry independent study (max 3000 words).
This paper analyses transgressional literature in the context of ideas presented in Søren Kierkegaard's texts, particularly Two Ages and The Sickness Unto Death. The paper sort of peters out weakly towards the end - I would write it differently if you asked me to do it again, but I think it's a decent effort nonetheless. The word limit for this paper was 3500 words, and includes a 600 word evaluative essay describing the process and problems of researching this topic.
